Remarks & Notes
The name of the business says it all for this shortline: "The Spud Seller." The San Luis Central derives much of its business from the potato farms lining this agricultural branchline between Monte Vista and Center, CO. Built in 1952 for the Cincinnati Union Terminal, and after a stint helping make beer for Coors, SW8 #70 now helps bring baked potatoes to our dinner tables. A sharp eye will note this unit sports her original single note horn, and has an added Airchime K5LA. A light pull on the cord gets the single note and a bit of Airchime, while a full pull gets a 6-chime monster that is something to hear.
