| Remarks & Notes  |
| TGV 744, specially equipped for test runs on the new built 2nd section of the high speed line Paris - Strasbourg, derailed on November 14th near Eckwersheim (changeover to the old line Vendenheim - Strasbourg, where speed is limited to 160 km/h). Apparently this train was running too fast and derailed in a curve. Seven cars reached the adjacent bank of the Marne au Rhin Channel, the last three cars (back end power unit included) dropped into the channel. |
