This well-travelled E8 began life on the NYC, and wound up being in PC's and later NJT's pool of passenger power that worked on the North Jersey Coast Line, swapping steam-heated passenger trains with GG1's at South Amboy. As part of NJT's early '80's modernization, the unit was equipped with HEP. A few years later, the 4323 was saver from the torch by the URHS, and now plys the rails on fantrips as Erie 834.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
These are the paint schemes you didn't think would turn up on the locomotives that they're on. (or they
re just really awesome paint schemes that didn't get the the credit they deserved...)
