| A nice hello from Section Manager / Driver Ettiene Smith behind the controls of veteran Class 6E1 electric locomotive, E1658, while passing through Ashburton Station. The Transnet Engineering Workshops at Edwin Swales in Durban had just refurbished this beautiful old girl (40+ years of service to date) for PRASA. E1658 will continue on in service for the near future, hauling mainline passenger trains on the line between Johannesburg and Cape Town. |
