Backwoods railroading! The Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad's flagship railroad, the Durbin Rocket in obscure Pocahontas County features a 5.5-mile tourist line on the former C&O Greenbrier branch that once operated from Ronceverte to Cass, W.Va. Today, the line hosts one of the nation's few operating Climax steam locomotives. Here, the locomotive has been turned south for a photo freight event.
This is dedicated (with permission) to the skilled and gifted photographer - Chase Gunnoe - who regularly posts and is on staff with RP. I believe he deserves a gallery showcasing his remarkable photos. This is for you Chase! (More great photos to come!)
