Although I lived in Colorado Springs for 17 years I could count the number of times I was able to photograph the military operations of Fort Carson. They often came off the property to pick up trains or cars at the small yard in Kelker. One of the few times I caught the train was after a small derailment and the power came up to Kelker to pick up the derailed car and return to the base.
