With the sun having just crested the horizon and a bit of early dawn fog still left in the air, Alton & Southern's Gateway Yard sits quietly under the St. Louis, MO skyline with some rather interesting power resting at the east end. These locomotives include two ex-Burlington Northern SD40-2's, a UP SD9043MAC, three SD70Ms and an evolution series General Electric unit. Drove straight into the East St. Louis ghetto at Alorton, IL to shoot this, haha.
