Yard power in the Sunday morning sun. 8886 is an ex-Erie Lackawanna SD45-2 that was rebuilt by Conrail to SD40 specs. It still retains its original car body and 5000 gallon fuel tank. With over 40 years in service, it still runs on a daily basis. It's current job is running on the Oak Island to Metuchen yard transfer.
This gallery contains photos of equipment and properties that became, were and used to be part of the Erie Lackawanna Railroad. This gallery also contains photos of equipment paying tribute to the EL or its predecessors.
Photographs where trains and people mix, weather it's street running, plant switching or carrying a unit grain train out of an elevator, it will be put here.
