| A northbound UP intermodal train from Los Angeles to Portland rolls across the high bridge over the Salt Creek Inlet of Lake Shasta in Northern California. The water level this summer was so low that the old roadway of US highway 99 is seen below the bridge. During the months the lake is full, the water level is more than half the way up the bridge columns. |
