This 65 ton engine was built by the American Locomotive Works in 1916 for Republic Steel of Massilon, Ohio. It was purchased by the Monticello Railway Museum in 1970 and began operating on October 9th, 1972. It's last run was in 1987. No. 191 has a surviving sister of L&N heritage, No. 285, an 0-8-0 which is stored unserviceable at the Kentucky Railway Museum.
