Remarks & Notes
The Poughkeepsie Bridge, July 1973. 212 feet above water, and 6768 feet long. Now, it is "...the longest footbridge in the world." A Penn Central-Erie Lackawanna run-through train rolls eastward high over the Hudson River at Poughkeepsie, New York. The Poughkeepsie Bridge closed to rail traffic on May 8, 1974, and now carries pedestrians rather than trains. Motive power: three consecutively numbered PC U33C 6543-6544-6545, and an EL SD45-2. Scanned from Ektachrome X.
