Late on a winters day, 2:21PM, with less than an hour of useable sun 3012 leads three sisters with 7,000' feet of train headed for the barge in Whittier. And after a week on the water will arrive in Seattle where they will head to their final destinations. The lead unit is the latest unit to be painted into Alaska RR's current scheme, 3003 the last unit is one of three remaining in the as delivered paint scheme. I keep hoping to perhaps catch all three of the remaining black/yellow GP40-2s on a single train.
