A long stone bridge (most of which has since been covered with concrete) carries the Northeast Corridor over the Raritan River in Highland Park, New Jersey. On March 31st, 2015, NJ Transit (which also operates, with Amtrak, on the NEC) train number 3828 (Trenton, NJ, to Penn Station in New York, NY) speeds across the span as it approaches its next stop in Edison. Edison, 30 miles from Penn Station, is roughly the halfway mark between Trenton and NYC. Rutgers University is just behind this bridge, and their 8-man rowing crews were out this morning practicing - but they never seemed to be in the shot when a train came by.
