Behind a pair of UP General Electric units, a long 500+ axle empty coal train swaggers its way north on the Chester Subdivision, part of the St. Louis Service Unit, and along the autumn colored bluffs of the Mississippi River. This particular train originated at Cook Coal Terminal's rail-to-barge facility down in Metropolis, IL and is headed for loading at the North Antelope Coal Mine in Wyoming's Powder River Basin.
