Ready for departure. Spokane, Portland & Seattle's massive Northern steams in the Portland Yard with a string of heavyweight coaches, looking for all the world like she's about to depart on a scheduled night run to Spokane. Alas, that will not happen this night, but the locomotive does occasionally venture out on mainline excursions, and she regularly pulls Christmas specials. She can be seen on static display at the recently-opened Oregon Rail Heritage Center in downtown Portland, adjacent to the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry. From a "hint" of "Bee" (NKP 765), colorful "Bees" (KCS), "Bees" w/ attitude, to "Bees" that "sting" your eyes, in their own way they have "Bee" on display! Equipment that "Buzzes" wearing Yellow & Black! ("Bees" can still "Bee" entering this "hive"!)
An ongoing/growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome, but seldom seen beauty of railroads because most of us don't go out after sundown or before sunrise. From dusk to dawn, lights are on! (And I continue to find new "Lights In The Night"!)
