Six Geeps An impressive lineup of six GP40PH-2s occupy various tracks in the Loco Yard at the MMC. Ironically these standard cab survivors have outlived much newer power on NJ Transit's active roster, including their fleet of 1981-built F40PHs. 4109 and 4102 are both former Jersey Central units (ex-CNJ 3677 & 3675, built 10/68), 4216 and 4217 are former Penn Central units (ex-PC 3204 & 3218, built 10/68), 4207 is former New York Central (ex-NYC 3005, built 12/65) and 4145 is the youngest of the group, built 10/71 as B&O 4032. If it remains in service, 4207 will celebrate it's 50th birthday next year. Taken with permission.
