Remarks & Notes
Opened on October 7, 1933, Smith-Ninth Street station is the highest subway station above ground level in the world at 87.5 ft. It was built by the IND in the 1930s and became part of the NYC Subway when the IND, BMT, and IRT Merged. Here, a Coney Island Bound F train makes it's way down the viaduct towards Coney Island.
