| Four sidewinder cranes hold the C&O 1309 about seven feet in the air as a depressed center flat car is positioned underneath it. The maneuver is carefully choreographed by the Hulcher crew at the B&O Railroad Museum. In a few days the equipment will move west to the Western Maryland Scenic Railway. If all goes as planned the 1309 should be carrying passengers up and around Helmstetter's Curve in the spring of 2016. |
