Welcome to the Juniata Shops, home of Norfolk Southern's premier engine facility. Also the home of the Norfolk Southern OCS. The Juniata Shops are currently tasked with several capital rebuild projects, including: SD60 -> SD60E's, Admiral Cab SD40-2's, GP59 -> GP59E, Mother and Slug conversions, as well many in-sourcing projects from other railroads. Lately there has been a lot of work done for CIT. The Juniata Shops are also working on more than one experimental projects. NS 999, an experimental battery powered locomotive, which has recently completed a major battery replacement. They are also working on a Compressed Natural Gas Mother Slug Set, which is in the midst of fabrication.
