One of the new and very elusive KZN Business Express sets being moved for staging purposes into the Metrorail Yard just north of Durban Station by yard shunter, Class 36 (212). The KZN Business Express is one of two refurbished Type 10M5 sets that will provide a daily service between Durban and Pietermaritzburg for people who live in Durban, but work in Pietermaritzburg. Internally, they have been stylishly refitted with plush leather seating, have a restaurant / refreshment car and a conference type boardroom setup for passengers who prefer to spend the 1 hour 55 minute trip working on their laptops. Launch of the service seems imminent, with both Durban & Pietermaritzburg Stations having undergone upgrades and had dedicated reception areas fitted to accommodate and cater for passengers using the service.
