| UP's Trona to Skyline coal empty ascends the final half mile of 2% grade to the crest of 7440 ft. Soldier Summit. The old General Railway Signal 'searchlights' are on borrowed time as they are scheduled to be replaced with new tri-lights and Positive Train Control. One more icon of the old Denver & Rio Grande Western will be history. |
