Remarks & Notes |
Peek-a-boo! VIA #57 pass in front of "CN-Du Port" bridge on the CN Saint-Hyacinthe subdivision. The "CN-Du Port" bridge was built in 1912 by the Dominion Bridge for the Grand Trunk Railway, Canadian National ancestor. It's now belongs to Parks Canada. As it was no longer functional and was too low for the return of the boats, it was rotated on its central island. This is the only former swing bridge Lachine Canal to still have the cab which made the bridge operator to operate the mechanism. |
