Built in 1968 for the Penn Central as their 3243, MARC #72 started life as an EMD GP40. After it's stint with Conrail, the unit was transformed into it's current form, and designated a GP39H-2. Here, the unit is speeding MARC train #851 south towards Washington D.C.
