Spring is here! Southbound along NS' West Virginia Secondary, a genuine SD40-2 leads the NS 380 south through the community of Nitro, enroute to Dickinson from Hobson. As foreign power and colorful consists continue to add contrast to eastern roads, a relatively clean BNSF owned SD40-2 was certainly a privilege to photograph with most of its series either scrapped, sold, or assigned to local/yard service.
