Remarks & Notes
Form 19 train orders are being handed up to the conductor of a Chattanooga to Birmingham steam special behind American Freedom Train 4449 (the ex-SP Daylight GS-4 Northern). This is Wauhatchie Tower, where Southern's Alabama Great Southern splits from the trackage rights route via the former Nashville, Chattanooga & St. Louis (L&N) main to Stevenson, Alabama, and on to Memphis. The AGS was part of the great Queen & Crescent Route, between the Queen City (Cincinnati) and the Crescent City (New Orleans). In passenger days, it hosted the likes of the Queen & Crescent Limited, and in later years, numbers 41 and 42, the Pelican (which ran via Knoxville, Bristol and Roanoke to DC and New York City).
