Norfolk Southern's "Southern" heritage unit, ES44AC #8099, leads excursion train #957 south past the historic Southern Railway depot in Ft. Payne, Alabama on a rainy Spring morning. Ft. Payne is the hometown of the country music group "Alabama". The train boarded at the Tennessee Valley Railroad Mueum in Chattanooga, and made a round trip from there to Attalla, Alabama.
