Remarks & Notes

In Montgomery, Alabama, in October 1974, a wide variety of Illinois Central Gulf locomotives could be found. Front and center is ICG GP40 3044, the former Illinois Central 3044. Behind that is a visiting Detroit Toledo & Ironton GP7 (#952) and a former Gulf Mobile & Ohio GP35. And in the distance, behind the EMD diesels, can be seen some elderly Alco RS-1s.
