Remarks & Notes

With the 1993 midwestern flood wreaking havoc on many carriers, the railroads are doing their best to keep traffic moving via detours on the remaining lines still above water. The Santa Fe is also effected along their busy Chicago-Kansas City line forcing detouring trains onto the Chicago & NorthWestern until the flood waters recede. Rolling past the abandoned grain elevator in Logan, Iowa, a lone C&NW SD50 and a perfectly matched A-B-A set of AT&SF GP60M's in their striking warbonnet paint scheme lead a hot westbound piggy-back train as another afternoon thundershower approaches.
