Remarks & Notes

A late No. 8 will become even later as it eases to a stop at East Browning where it would wait nearly an hour for two westbound trains. BNSF had eight trains dead and tied down between Nyack and Piegan, which severely limited operational flexibility over Marias Pass. It was classic "Code Blue" with temps starting the day at -40F and never getting close to zero in the upper elevations.
