Remarks & Notes
While the official name of the railroad has been CSX Transportation since mid-'86, four GE C30-7s still looking pretty decent in French gray, yellow/gold and red Family Lines colors are in command of a 90-car unit train of thermal coal at Copper, VA. The train is eastbound on NS trackage rights, consigned to a Carolina utility. The bridge marks a quick vertical curve transition from level to 1.7 percent--a circumstance that explains the two unseen SD40-2 helpers that will be in full auditory voice once they reach this point.
