Snow is unusual in Northwest Louisiana - and whatever snow falls usually melts very quickly. On February 5, 2011, Shreveport had a rare day where snow fell, the sky cleared, and the snow did not melt immediately. The triple tracks through downtown were very slow, this being one of two trains that morning.
