Remarks & Notes
Seaboard Air Line passenger, mail, and express train No. 3 is approaching Harrington St. as it departs Raleigh in July 1966. E7A 3040 is fitted with aluminum sides (as was E7A 3041 which was similarly equipped) and did not require painting. At this late date, No. 3 was still operating with an active RPO and the postal clerk can be seen at the doorway of the car. The train also sports a Pullman-Standard lightweight style combine, known as "American Flyers" on the rear.
