Remarks & Notes |
Running about 30 minutes late, the northbound "Algoa" from Port Elizabeth to Johannesburg is approaching Kroonstad on a bright and sunny summer morning. The train is crossing the Blomspruit (flower creek) just south of the entrance to Gunhill yard. Cars 2 and 3 are a Premier Classe sleeper and diner, attached to this train twice a week to offer a more upmarket accommodation option. In steam days a continuous parade of 15F 4-8-2's left the yard and crossed this bridge to begin the assault on Bosrand bank. |
