Remarks & Notes
Back when CSX wasn't quite so anal about sponsoring steam locomotives on their railroad, Nickel Plate 765--temporarily disguised as "C&O 2765"--gallops south on the former L&N Knoxville & Atlanta Division main line (KD Sub today). This is the return leg of a Knoxville to Corbin R/T. The L&N owned 42 very similar 2-8-4s, but they never rolled a wheel here. The big engines were banned south of Corbin during the days of steam.
