Remarks & Notes
King of the MLW's. CP 4744 was the only M640 ever produced and the most powerful diesel locomotive ever produced by MLW thanks to its 18 Cylinder 251F engine which produced 4,000 horsepower. It was converted from C-C to A1A-A1A trucks during the 1980s when it became an AC test bed with technology from ABB, thus becoming an important precedent to the current dominance of AC traction motors on North American freight diesels. Behind it is another one of a kind: CP 8905, the only surviving Trainmaster. For more train photos, check out http://www.railpictures.net/photos/mtlwestrailfan/
