Under the imposing coaling tower at Centralia, Illinois, on a September 1984 night, Illinois Central locomotives idle the evening away. Paducah-rebuild IC GP10 No. 8193 stands one track over from IC SD40 No. 6002, exhaust eddying up into the black sky.
