This is a meet at the siding at Boody, VA, just north of St. Paul in early 1984. We're only 13 months and some change after the demise of the Clinchfield Railroad, so the southbound in the siding is the equivalent of train 92. SBD went through several variations of train ID schemes before this became R691 (eventually the prefix became "Q," with the successor CSXT's emphasis on "Quality"). The crew has laid back north of the road crossing (Morefield crossing) since there's fully a mile of siding between the crossing and the north switch. The northbound with the SDs is counterpart R690 (formerly 97). And, the weather is obviously crummy! Notice the storage/interchange track on the right is littered with discarded worn out brake shoes.
