On an incredibly still spring morning, an eastbound BNSF manifest freight crosses the Pack River Fill just west of Hope, Idaho, on the morning of May 19, 2011. This nearly mile long fill on Montana Rail Link’s Fourth Subdivision separates the drainage of the Pack River with Lake Pend Oreille, which is located on the other side of the train in this view.
