Remarks & Notes 
A westbound cab hop rolls through Bluestone Junction. The branch is the Pocahontas Branch--the source for some of the first coal mined in this region. The N&W's power plant for its electrified section from Iaeger to Bluefield was also located here until 1950, when the wires came down in favor of modern steam (and a line change and new tunnel through Elkhorn).
