Remarks & Notes
Reading and Northern's "Mountain Job" prepares to work at Universal Forest Products, in Gordon, while a light snowfall blankets the area. The #3057 and #5049 are holding on the main track, of the M&S Running Track, awaiting further instructions by the Conductor. The stone base on the left side of this photo once housed a water tank, which was used by the Reading Company. Gordon was an important location on the Reading. Many steam locomotives were based out of Gordon in its heyday. Gordon was a base for helper locomotives that were used to assist trains on the steep Locust Summit and Buck Mountain grades.
