As Union Pacific "Big Boy" 4014 slowly makes its way toward the Metrolink mainline at the northern end of the Fairplex (location of the Los Angeles County Fair), a process that will take many days, onlookers gather to watch the progress. And some of them arrive in vintage automobiles, which they they pose next to the big 4-8-8-4. Just before the engine is pulled to the far end of the "snap track", a Ford Model A and a 1950 Plymouth park for photos on November 17th, 2013. The 1941 Alco product is heading to Cheyenne for, the UP hopes, a complete rebuild and return to steam operation.
