A westbound Southern Pacific coal train drops down the grade on Tennessee Pass at Pando, Colorado, on September 5, 1995. Leading the power set of four EMDs is a former Erie Lackawanna/Conrail SDP45 that MK Rail rebuilt into a SD40M-2 for SP in the mid-1990s.
