A Santa Fe local departs Fullerton behind a pair of GP7u diesels: 2072 (ex-ATSF GP7 2888) and 2069 (ex-ATSF GP7 2832). Each of these units has been rebuilt by the railroad's Cleburne Shops, having the dynamic brakes removed (and the blisters smoothed over) and receiving chopped noses, reconfigured cab roofs and air conditioning. In these days (this photo was shot on February 6th, 1985) local power was still kept at Fullerton, with trains heading out to serve the industries in Orange County (Anaheim, Santa Ana, Irvine, etc.).
