Two P42DCs lead Amtrak #6 "The California Zephyr" through Platteville, CO. The train in the siding is a loaded Colorado Springs Utilities Coal Load that had to wait for a UP/FRA Track Inspector to clear before pulling into the siding to let Amtrak by.

Two Amtrak routes serve the Centennial State. The California Zephyr's route through Moffat Tunnel and along the Colorado River goes from one end of the state to the other. The Southwest Chief cuts across the southeast corner.
