Ja 1275 heads Mainline Steam Northlander excursion train from Auckland to Whangarei. This 200Km line is rugged, rustic and scenic with 13 tunnels and 2% grades between. The return trip by steam train takes nearly 14 hours. The locomotive was built by North British, Glasgow in 1951.
