While searching for a suitable location to photograph the pending Rio Grande Zephyr, we spotted the Provo Switcher milling about in the former Salt Lake and Utah Railroad interchange yard called 'Provo Junction'. SD9 5310 is working on the freight belt line the SL&U built to bypass downtown Provo. The Rio Grande purchased this trackage when the SL&U interurban line was abandoned in 1946, renaming it the 'Orem Branch'.
