R761 and R707 thunder through Melbourne's north-western suburbs between Ginifer and St Albans stations with Steamrail's annual 'Maldon Experience' tour. At Castlemaine passengers will transfer to the Victorian Goldfields Railway for the trip to Maldon, while the mainline train will continue to Bendigo to be turned and serviced. This was the morning of the 2013 federal election, and a little over 12 hours after this photo was taken Australia found itself with an ultra-conservative government, not something I was overly happy about.
