Remarks & Notes

To help supplement the 4 axle fleet on the railroad, the Clinchfield purchased 10 GP38's in 1967. The units were great all purpose units that could be used for mine runs, extra units for mainline trains, and great for shifters and locals on the southern end. Here, 2001 sits in Erwin, TN. in the heart of the major reclassification yard. 35mm slide from my collection, photo by Ken Marsh.
