Montana Rail Link’s westbound Laurel-Missoula road freight (LM) begins its assault on Bozeman Pass with eight SD45s and SD45-2s just west of Livingston, Montana, on September 23, 2002. A set of five of the big machines is being used as a point helper on a three-unit set of road power. One-hundred and sixty cylinders fighting gravity; what a sound this was!
