The two newest and most futuristic Shinkansen trains of Japan, the "Hiun"-red E6 and the "Tokiwa"-green E5 of JR East, coupled together for train 19 "Super Komachi" to Akita (the seven-car E6) and "Hayabusa" for Shin-Aomori (the ten-car E5 in the foreground). The E6 has a 40 centimeter smaller carbody for the "Akita Shinkansen" line from Morioka to Akita, which was converted from cape gauge to standard gauge and has a reduced clearance gauge. You can recognize the unfolded footsteps on the E6 which bridge the gap between platform and train. The new E6 trains are in service since 6 march 2013.
